Community Guidelines
Effective Date: April 11, 2025
ĀYŌDÈ (The Organization for the Advancement of Youth through Opportunities in Digital Education) is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all members of our community. These Community Guidelines (“Guidelines”) describe the expectations for behavior when participating in ĀYŌDÈ’s online services, forums, programs, and activities (“Services”).
By using our Services, you agree to follow these Guidelines.
1. Be Respectful
Treat everyone with kindness, patience, and respect.
Our Pledge
In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as contributors and maintainers pledge to making participation in our project and our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
Our Standards
Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment include:
- Using welcoming and inclusive language
- Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
- Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
- Focusing on what is best for the community
- Showing empathy towards other community members
Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include:
- The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
- Public or private harassment
- Publishing others’ private information, such as a physical or electronic address, without explicit permission
- Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
Prohibited behavior includes:
- Harassment, bullying, or intimidation.
- Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Personal attacks or threats of violence.
2. Maintain a Safe Environment
Help us maintain a positive and safe community.
Prohibited behavior includes:
- Sharing inappropriate, obscene, or offensive content.
- Posting spam, advertisements, or promotional content without permission.
- Sharing personal or sensitive information of others without consent.
- Posting or sharing confidential, proprietary, or otherwise restricted information that you do not have the right to disclose.
- Posting placeholder, low-substance, or reservation-oriented content intended primarily to hold usernames, handles, addresses, or other identifiers rather than to participate legitimately in the community.
3. Practice Academic Integrity
ĀYŌDÈ is an educational space.
Do not:
- Cheat, plagiarize, or falsify information.
- Submit work that is not your own without proper attribution.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others.
4. Protect Privacy and Security
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Report any security issues or suspicious activity.
- Respect the privacy of other users.
5. Use Technology Responsibly
Do not:
- Attempt to disrupt, damage, or compromise ĀYŌDÈ systems.
- Deploy malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
- Circumvent access controls or restrictions.
6. Follow Applicable Laws and Policies
All activity must comply with:
- Applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- ĀYŌDÈ’s Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and all other posted policies.
- The ACM Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct
7. Reporting Violations
If you witness or experience any behavior that violates these Guidelines, please report it immediately.
ĀYŌDÈ will review all reports and take appropriate action, which may include:
- Content removal
- Temporary or permanent suspension
- Referral to appropriate authorities (if required)

8. Changes to These Guidelines
ĀYŌDÈ may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on our website. Continued use of our Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Guidelines.
